Omission In Perception
is an immersive installation that challenges the viewer’s experience of urban spaces through an interplay of moving image photographs. Utilising three projectors, the installation showcases a series of images shot on 120mm film, creating a distorted and unsettling portrayal of large inner-city buildings. Each still lasts for 30 seconds, with transitions occurring every 7 to 15 seconds, inviting viewers to navigate their own unique paths through the visual landscape.

This work questions the information consumed and lost in the everyday experience of navigating these overstimulated environments. Inspired by the sensation of traveling through the city by bus, where the architecture looms like grand monuments, the installation evokes a feeling akin to that of an ant traversing blades of grass.

The monumental nature of these buildings against the sky creates a contrast, where structures appear to shift yet remain static, further complicating our perceptions of time and space. Omission in Perception invites reflections on how we engage with our environments, urging us to reconsider the often-overlooked narratives hidden within the urban landscape.
